How Diversity and Accessibility Affect Street Vitality in Historic Districts?

The loss of traditional features and place memory, ultimately vibrancy in historic districts, has attracted substantial attention today’s urban design. Most conventional theories are the consensus that diversity accessibility characteristics play important roles creating street vitality, whereas how these influence vitality districts not been thoroughly explored. Furthermore, it is less clear as to which exert greater influence. Taking Drum Tower Muslim District, a historical neighborhood Xi’an, China, case study, this paper employs geospatial data examine vitality. This study identifies seven factors accessibility, incorporates them into spatial multivariate regression model for analysis. results indicate makes stronger impact on than does. closeness streets, functional density, intersection location public transportation density infrastructure top five influencing outcome will shed light what constitutes vibrant district help inform us where we can improve
